Carwyn Thomas

Associate Landscape Architect

BLA in Landscape Architecture, Manchester Metropolitan University 2009

Member of the Landscape Institute

With more than 18 years in the landscape architecture profession, Carwyn has led a wide range of projects from city centre public realm to large scale parks. He is particularly interested in environmental psychology and the role spatial data can play in shaping better places. His strength lies in the design and detailed delivery of multi‑stakeholder projects that require careful architectural, engineering and ecological coordination.

He leads Colour projects with a client focused mindset, believing that technical excellence is essential to creating places with lasting value. His work is grounded in a deep interest in the identity and history of place. Carwyn brings a positive and proactive attitude to team leadership and project management, supported by commercial awareness, strong technical knowledge and hands‑on experience in landscape and building construction.

Carwyn enjoys developing a clear narrative with clients and co-consultants that helps translate vision into coordinated and buildable landscapes to support long term wellbeing for communities and nature. This approach has been central to his work on Gateshead Riverside Park and the adjacent Clasper Village neighbourhood with Gateshead Borough Council

Within the studio Carwyn helps foster a culture where designers feel supported to learn and grow. Outside work he is always up for a challenge and recently climbed to Everest Base Camp.

My ambition is to make nature accessible, usable and function in a way that reconnects people with the outdoors.

With Colour I have these opportunities !
